Frequently asked questions

The Dyson V15s Detect Submarine™ wet and dry vacuum comes with a Digital Motorbar™ and Dyson’s Hair Screw Tool, which are designed to pick up long hair and pet hair with ease. Hair should be vacuumed up before using the Submarine™ wet roller head for the best cleaning result.

Dyson understands that some users will want to combine a cleaning detergent with the wet roller head. If you decide to use detergent, please choose gentle, common household detergents, and do not use bleach and high-foaming formulation. Please follow the manufacturers guidance on the recommended dilution on surfaces cleaning - We do not recommend putting neat detergents in the clean water tank.

We recommend replacing the wet roller every six months, depending on how often you use your machine, to help maintain optimum performance.

We suggest owners to wash the Submarine™ wet roller as well as the Submarine™ wet roller head, after every clean.

Slide the cassette out to empty the waste tray, which can also be washed and wiped down to remove more stubborn or viscous debris. Make sure you do this after every clean to maintain optimal hygiene. Clean the wet roller using water and a common household anti-bacterial detergent - Dilute as per manufacturers recommended ratio. Rinse the main roller head with running water and do not soak it in the water to protect motor.

No. The Dyson Submarine™ wet roller head is not compatible with any other Dyson vacuum cleaner, including pre-purchased Dyson V15 Detect™ vacuums. To intelligently switch between wet and dry cleaning, this version of the machine has been reprogrammed. The previous software is not compatible with wet floor cleaning.

No. Due to the Dyson Submarine™ wet roller head not being compatible with any other Dyson vacuum, it is not available as an accessory. For spare parts and support for your wet roller head, you can contact our customer service team. Contact Dyson support.

Read More you pull back it sucks it up so you have to go forward and back on the same spot. Dries really quick. A bit heavier than the v11. Refilled the water 3 times for a long hallway, kitchen dining and living area (4 bedroom house). With that said I hadn’t mopped in a couple of weeks because it was just too hard with a manual mop and we have 2 dog’s bringing mud inside. Definitely vacuum first. I put 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 water. No streaks on my floor. Very happy with my purchase.
